and Warranty Guidelines

From boat shades to residential installations, here’s a quick rundown to make your experience worry-free and enjoyable.

Bow Shade

For stationary use only; if moving, boat speed should not exceed 5-7 knots with poles up. Shade must be installed horizontally or slightly angled downwards to prevent wind pressure damage. Support straps are essential, and failure to install them voids warranties.

Aft Shade

Can be raised while the boat is moving, but not recommended above 15 knots. Support straps must be in place at all times; no strap equals no warranty.

Residential Shade

Not recommended in winds exceeding 25-30 mph; take down in extreme conditions. Always use support straps when the shade is up.

Support Straps

Mandatory on every pole for equal pressure and security. No support strap means no warranty.

Maintenance

Rinse poles with fresh water after use in a saltwater environment. Ensure a tight shade to avoid stress on poles and rod holders.

Installation

Backing plates are crucial when using rod holders; through-bolt them for security. Inclined installation recommended for water drainage. Mesh shades are advised for water and wind permeability.

Pole Care

Lightweight, durable, and corrosion resistant. Susceptible to scratching; repair with AWLGRIP paint. Avoid excessive heat exposure and store in shade. Rinse with fresh water after saltwater use.

Warranty

One year against breakages, valid with correct installation and adherence to usage guidelines. Support straps are mandatory for warranty coverage.

For boats under 30 feet or shade under 50 square feet, go for the 1.5″ poles in various colors. They fit regular rod holders and 1.5-inch separating mounting bases.
For boats over 30 feet or larger shade areas, opt for the 2″ poles with corresponding mounting bases.
For Sport Fisher Boats and larger vessels, the tapering SPORTS FISHER POLES are super-strong and range from 84 to 120 inches.
Bow poles are specifically for BOW shade.
Stainless Steel telescoping poles suit various shade needs.
