SeaDek FAQs

Do SeaDek materials fade in the sun?

No, SeaDek does not fade. Being ISO certified, it is subject to uniform and rigorous UV and Q-SUN standards.

Is SeaDek messy?

No, stains generally come off very easily. To eliminate grime, footprints, sunscreen lotion, fish blood, rust and other residues that are difficult to remove from your SeaDek, we recommend the DekClean cleaner, which has been specially developed to facilitate the cleaning of nonskid PE/EVA products.

Can SeaDek melt or burn?

SeaDek rarely melts or burns, occurring only in 1% of cases due to light amplification caused by the sun reflecting on surfaces like stainless steel. To extend its life, we recommend covering boats or storing them in a building, if possible, when not in use.

Does a SeaDek material peel off?

SeaDek will not peel off when properly cleaned, prepared, and installed between 16°C and 30°C. The process includes washing the surface with Windex and acetone and applying a 3M 94 primer.
